Bulk Cargoes & OOG
Bulk cargoes are goods that are shipped in large quantities, usually in loose form rather than in individual containers or packages. Examples of bulk cargoes include grains, coal, iron ore, and other raw materials. These cargoes are often shipped using specialized vessels, such as bulk carriers or tankers, that are equipped to handle and transport large quantities of loose materials.
OOG stands for “Out of Gauge,” and it refers to cargo that is too large or oddly shaped to fit within the standard dimensions of a shipping container. This type of cargo is often more challenging to transport and handle, as it requires specialized equipment and handling techniques.
Both bulk cargoes and OOG cargoes can present logistical challenges in terms of transportation and handling. It is important to carefully plan and coordinate the movement of these types of cargoes to ensure that they are transported safely and efficiently.
