EXW Shipments
EXW stands for “Ex Works,” and it is a trade term used in international trade. It is a type of sale in which the seller agrees to make the goods available to the buyer at the seller’s place of business, or another specified location, such as a warehouse. The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for the transportation of the goods from the seller’s location to their final destination.
In an EXW shipment, the seller is not responsible for loading the goods onto the transport vehicle, nor are they responsible for paying for any export or import duties or other fees that may be applicable. The buyer is also responsible for arranging and paying for any insurance coverage for the goods during transportation.
It is important to carefully review and understand the terms of an EXW shipment before agreeing to it, as it places a significant amount of responsibility on the buyer for the transportation and handling of the goods.
